CREST is an acronym describing the most prominent features of a type of scleroderma that is more limited than systemic sclerosis. CREST stands for:
- Calcinosis: deposits of calcium under the skin
- Raynauds
- Esophageal dismotility: slowing of the movement in the muscles of the esophagus, causing heartburn
- Sclerodactyly: abnormal shortening and thinning of the tips of fingers
- Telangectasias: red collections of spidery, small blood vesselsĀ

Pat G.
I recently was diagnosed with RH, Scleroderma and Sjorgens Syndrome. I am looking for a medical clinic in the Chicago area that is uptodate on these diseases.
So far the Scleroderma is not showing outward signs, byt the Sjorgens syndrome has affected my eyes, gums and diagestive system.
Does anyone know about the University of Chicago Clinic.
Thanks for your help, this is depressing, what is to come??
